Three people were injured Wednesday in a house fire in North Richland Hills, authorities said.

The fire erupted about 3 p.m. in a garage in the 5100 block of Abby Road, a North Richland Hills public safety office spokeswoman said.

The victims were taken to a hospital. Two were in critical condition, and the third person’s condition had stabilized, the spokeswoman said Wednesday.

The fire’s cause was under investigation.

Several pets were rescued from the house, and others died.

A second alarm response came from Hurst and Keller firefighters. Maplewood Avenue was partially closed.
