Elderly North Richland Hills man remains missing

A search continued Sunday for an 84-year-old man who last seen Wednesday morning driving to an appointment he never made, police said.

Relatives of James Booth told police he may be in the early stages of Alzheimer's or dementia.

He left his home at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Mid Cities Boulevard and Ice House Drive.

Booth was driving a white 2017 Toyota Corolla with Texas license plate JHC2212.

Police said he was wearing a dark green sweater over a beige sweater.

He's described as about 5-foot-8, about 165 pounds, white hair and blue eyes.

Booth does not have a cell phone, police said.

A Silver Alert was issued for Booth on Thursday.

In an unrelated missing person case, Jaden Schmalzried, 34, of Savannah, who had been missing since Feb. 17 was found safe Saturday, a deputy with the Denton County Sheriff's Department said Sunday.
