40-year-old woman dies after being pulled out of Arlington community lake

A 40-year-old Grand Prairie woman was pronounced dead after she was pulled out of an Arlington community lake, officials with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office and Arlington police said Wednesday.

The woman had been pulled out of Lake Viridian in Arlington on Tuesday afternoon.

Catherine A. Okate was pronounced dead at 5:07 p.m. Tuesday at an Arlington hospital, according to the medical examiner’s website on Wednesday.

Her cause of death was determined to be accidental drowning.

Arlington police responded to a drowning call about 4 p.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of Viridian Park Lane.

An unresponsive woman had been pulled out of the water near a beach area of the lake, which is a man-made lake for a housing community in north Arlington, Arlington police said.

Arlington police did not release any other details.
