Dive team finds body of woman who drowned in Lake Worth in weekend tragedy
A dive team from the Fort Worth Fire Department found the body of a woman Monday morning in Lake Worth near Marion Sansom Park, a fire official said.
The woman went missing in the water Sunday afternoon and apparently drowned, authorities said. Her name has not been released by authorities.
Fort Worth firefighters and other local area firefighters responded to a call about 5 p.m. Sunday of multiple people in distress in the water near the park.
One other person was pulled out of Lake Worth on Sunday afternoon and treated at the scene, authorities.
A search was conducted until 9 p.m. Sunday for the woman, and then resumed about 7:30 a.m. Monday, according to fire department officials.
The woman’s body was located about 10 a.m. Monday near the park.
A firefighter who suffered from heat exhaustion was taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon during the search.
Tragedy also struck at Lewisville Lake, where two people drowned on Saturday, according to KXAS-TV.
The television station reported two men died at the lake. Their names have not been released.
The Lewisville Lake incident happened just south of Lewisville Lake Dam.
