The last time North Texas made its presence truly felt on The Voice was two years ago, when Luke Wade and Reagan James made deep runs into the competition, before Mesquite native Craig Wayne Boyd ultimately won the whole thing.

The 11th season, which began last week, might give that seventh season a run for its money, if the blind auditions to this point are any indication.

On Monday’s episode, Denton singer-songwriter Josh Halverson auditioned, earning a spot on coach Alicia Keys’ team.

On Tuesday’s episode, Arlington singer Simone Gundy delivered an emotional performance, landing on coach Adam Levine’s team.

And last, but not least, Fort Worth singer-songwriter Austin Allsup (who I’d previously reported would be on this season) also auditioned on Tuesday, and wound up reunited with coach Blake Shelton, an artist for whom he once opened.

Stay tuned to find out if any other North Texas talents materialize over the course of The Voice’s blind auditions, which continue through Oct. 4.
