Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons tore his ACL on Sunday, and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and cornerback Trevon Diggs offered support for their former teammate after their loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Parsons injured himself while chasing Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix in the backfield. Parsons’ leg buckled, and he hopped before hitting the ground with a non-contact knee injury.
Prescott said after his game that he talked to Parsons to check in on him following the devastating injury.
“I shot him a message before the game telling him to keep his head up,” Prescott said. “Tough game, tough business. He responded. Great message. Great attitude about it, and he’ll attack his rehab.”
Diggs also commented on Parsons, who stuck up for him earlier this year and criticized the Cowboys for how they handled Diggs’ return from injury.
“I was devastated,” Diggs said. “As soon as I seen it happened I texted him, made sure he was good. That’s my ... brother. I been through it, so I know how he’s feeling right now, I just want y’all to keep him in your prayers, make sure he’s prayed up, and I’ll make sure I’m there for him every step of the way.”
The Packers confirmed on Monday that Parsons tore his ACL and will miss the rest of the season, a serious blow to a Green Bay team that had Super Bowl aspirations and for whom Parsons was playing at the top of his game.
