Why did Dez Bryant say the Dallas Cowboys are ‘not trying to be fair’ to CB Trevon Diggs?
Ex-Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant was speaking on Personal Corner about his conversations with Trevon Diggs regarding a possible extension for the Cowboys cornerback.
Over his three-year NFL career, Diggs has amassed one All-Pro selection and two Pro Bowls while emerging as a top corner in the NFL.
Bryant said Diggs should recognize and capitalize off his value.
“Diggs you’ve done something that a lot of cornerbacks have not done in their first three years in the NFL,” said Bryant, “I told him you don’t compromise that.”
Bryant said that the Cowboys weren’t trying to fairly negotiate with Diggs despite the fact that Diggs was not asking for an exorbitant contract.
“He [Diggs] is not trying to knock them [Cowboys] across the head,” said Bryant, “I will say they [Cowboys] not trying to be fair to him.”
Bryant said he felt that Diggs was asking for a fair contract.
“I feel like what he’s asking for he’s rightfully deserving of that contract,” said Bryant, “I believe it should all be guaranteed, that’s my opinion I’m not going to get into full details of our conversation.”
Diggs is entering the final year of his contract with the Cowboys and will become a free agent next season.
