CeeDee Lamb’s first Dallas Cowboys game showed promise and one glaring error
The first-career NFL game for receiver CeeDee Lamb showed why there are such high expectations for the Dallas Cowboys rookie.
But Lamb’s first game in the league will most likely be remember for a play he did not make at a crucial moment.
On 4th and 3 early in the fourth quarter the Cowboys went for it from the Los Angeles Rams’ 11. Dak Prescott connected with Lamb over the middle but Lamb’s route was a yard short and he was tackled immediately. The Rams took over and held on for a 20-17 win.
Lamb finished with five receptions for 59 yards on six targets. His first-career catch went for 33 yards, the longest completion in the game for Prescott. Lamb also returned a punt for 20 yards, five yards longer than any punt return for Dallas in 2019. Amari Cooper led the team with 81 yards on 10 catches.
Lamb played 57 plays, tied for the most by a rookie in Week 1, according to Next Gen Stats.
