Dallas Cowboys legends rip Jason Garrett, team after 3-game losing streak
When the Dallas Cowboys lose Michael Irvin you know they have problems.
In fact, some of the biggest names in Cowboys’ history seem to have hit a wall.
Former Cowboys’ coach Jimmy Johnson doesn’t expect head coach Jason Garrett to be the head coach next year.
“I don’t see them winning a playoff game,” Johnson said during the FOX pregame show Sunday. “I think the negativity in Dallas and around the Cowboys right now it would be miserable if he continues to be the head coach. Nobody would be happy if he was the coach a year from now.”
Hall of Fame quarterback and FOX analyst Troy Aikman was at a loss during the Cowboys’ loss Thursday night to the Chicago Bears.
“Who on that staff has earned the right to be an interim head coach? I can’t think of one guy that you would put in that seat,” Aikman said. “I don’t envision anything happening, but you never know. This has been a real eye-opener once again.”
Irvin, an unapologetic cheerleader for Dallas and Hall of Fame receiver, was distraught after Thursday’s loss during the NFL Network post-game show.
“I don’t see how you continue down this path when you’ve seen what was on the football field the last two games,” Irvin said.
Later that night, Irvin posted a sad message on Twitter.
“I can truly say I am depressed and feeling very badly for my great friend Coach Garrett and my great love @dallascowboys,” Irvin said. “This will be a very tough night to just fall asleep.”
