Livin’ la Vida Luka! Reaction to more Doncic milestones in Dallas Mavericks win in Mexico
Luka Doncic was at it again Thursday night.
This time it was in Mexico City leading the Dallas Mavericks over the Detroit Pistons 122-111.
Doncic recorded his seventh triple-double on the road, which moved him ahead of Magic Johnson and LeBron James for the most in NBA history before turning 22.
And, um, Doncic is only 20. He doesn’t turn 21 until February 28. Let that sink in. It’s his eighth triple-double this season. He had the arena crowd in Mexico City chanting “MVP!”
He also stretched his string of games with at least 20 points, five rebounds and five assists to 20 games, the third-longest such stretch in league history. Only Oscar Robertson has longer such streaks. He had streaks of 29 and 25 games during his career.
His 41 points are the most ever scored in a game in Mexico. His triple-double is the first triple-double ever recorded in Mexico.
He became the first player in league history to collect two 40-point triple-doubles before the age of 21.
