Yu Darvish dinner with group of Rangers’ staffers, feeds fan frenzy
Free agent Yu Darvish is still untied to a major league team but his Texas Rangers’ ties run deep.
The right-hander, who pitched for the Rangers for more than four seasons before being traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers last season, spent a recent night having dinner with a group of Rangers staffers.
Darvish posted an image on Instagram of him dining out with a group of Rangers friends, including strength and conditioning coach Jose Vazquez, home clubhouse manager Brandon Boyd and assistant clubhouse manager Mason McKenna.
“Great dinner with my boys,” Darvish wrote on the post, which has been liked over 13,000 times.
Rangers fans responded with pleas to return to Arlington while others around the country tried their best to convince Darvish to sign with their team.
A Cubs fan even tried to tell Darvish that the restaurants are better in Chicago. Look, the food is excellent in the Windy City (as it is all over our great land!) but it doesn’t touch the overall quality of the DFW food scene.
