Highlights from the American League’s 5-3 victory in the 2024 MLB All-Star Game
The 2024 MLB All-Star Game has finally returned to Texas for the first time in almost 30 years featuring some of the game’s biggest names like Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani and Bryce Harper.
The all-star game begins at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and airs on FOX and can be streamed on the FOX Sports app.
This year the Texas Rangers have three all-star selections; Marcus Semien, Corey Seager and Kirby Yates looking to make an impression on the hometown crowd before they try and resume their chase to repeat as World Series Champion.

Teams for the American League and National League were introduced and Bruce Bochy, Marcus Semien, Kirby Yates and Corey Seager received huge applause.
First inning
Corbin Burnes got the start for the A.L. and had runners on second and third with two outs against William Contreras and got a groundout to keep the game scoreless.
Rookie sensation Paul Skenes started for the N.L. and retired the first two batters he faced, walked Juan Soto but escaped the inning with a groundout by Aaron Judge.

Second inning
Tarik Skubal took the mound in the second inning and had a 1-2-3 inning including a flyout on Home Run Derby participant Alec Bohm.
Max Fried engineered another quiet inning against the AL who hasn’t had a hit through two innings.
Score: 0-0
Third inning
The NL was the first team on the scoreboard after a three-run home run by Shohei Ohtani on a 3-0 pitch from Tanner Houck.
Marcus Semien got the first hit of the day for the AL against Logan Webb and scored the team’s first run after Juan Soto hit a two-run double to get the AL on the board. Grapevine product David Fry singled in Soto to even up the score at three apiece.
Score: 3-3
Fourth inning
Garrett Crochet kept the NL batters off the scoreboard after a three-run third inning.
Shota Imanaga came on for the NL in the fourth and made short work of the AL batters including Marcus Semien.
Score: 3-3
Fifth inning
Flamethrower Mason Miller came on striking out Ohtani, with a 104 MPH slider, and Turner in the inning. Miller’s pitch was the fastest in All-Star Game history in the pitch-tracking era.
Corey Seager had his first at-bat of the All-Star Game against Hunter Greene and nearly hit a home run only for the ball to be caught at the warning track.
Jarren Duran followed Seager and this time hit the ball out of the park for a two-run home run to give the AL the lead.
Score: 5-3
Sixth inning
Former Texas Rangers pitcher Cole Ragans took the mound and retired Bryce Harper, Will Smith and Freddie Freeman.
Cristopher Sanchez and Reynaldo López combined for a scoreless inning.
Score: 5-3
Seventh inning
The NL got two men on with one out but Ryan McMahon struck and Marcell Ozuna grounded out to end the inning.
Bobby Witt Jr. had the first All-Star Game at-bat of his career and struck out to end the inning.
Score: 5-3
Eighth inning
Kirby Yates came out for the penultimate inning and retired the side in order with two strikeouts.
The AL failed to add any insurance runs in the bottom of the inning.
Score: 5-3
Ninth inning
Emmanuel Clase came on for the save facing Pete Alonso, Elly De La Cruz and Jackson Merril and recorded a strikeout and a groundout before an infield single by Merril extended the inning. Bryan Reynolds came up as the tying run but struck out to end the game.
Final: 5-3
Jarren Duran won All-Star Game MVP after going 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning that ended up being the go-ahead run.
