Dallas-Fort Worth high school football winners for Week 6 from Godley and Azle
Godley’s Ethan McBrayer and Azle’s Jesse Rivera were voted DFW players of the week from Week 6 while the Azle Hornets were voted team of the week.
McBrayer, the offensive POW, put on an absolute show in Week 6 vs. Canton, throwing for 580 yards and 8 TDs on 32 of 47 passes. He received 40 percent of the votes.
Weatherford QB Ken Seals came in second with 32 percent. He went 18 of 21 for 369 yards and 5 TDs vs. Haltom.
Arl. Seguin RB Jalen March came in third with 12 percent after rushing for 201 yards and 3 TDs vs. Cleburne to help the Cougars snap a 15-game losing streak.
Winning defensive player of the week was Rivera, who made 11 tackles, 7 solo and recovered two fumbles helping Azle, the team of the week, to a comeback 48-47 win vs. previously unbeaten Crowley.
Carroll’s Preston Forney came in second and Aledo’s Nathen Fingar was third.
Azle received 76 percent of the votes and beat out Naaman Forest and Arl. Seguin.
