Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who was just named the AFC’S Player-of-the-Month, might have a new goal.

The former Texas Tech Red Raiders’ star threw some bombs at Whitehouse High School in Tyler.

But, according UIL records, the longest touchdown pass in the history of Texas high school football was thrown by Deroderick Strickland of Big Sandy High School. The pass, which is listed at 96 yards, came against Stratford High School during the 2005 season.

But it is highly unlikely the ball traveled that far in the air.

The site lists other throws of 70 yards or more, but it’s very difficult to find evidence of how far those balls traveled in the air.

Enter this absolute bomb thrown by quarterback Matt Morin in 2012.

The Instagram account “hits” previously posted a video of Morin throwing what has to be one of the longest passes in the history of high school football.

The missile, which resulted in a touchdown on the same play, was thrown from the 18-yard line inside the opposing 10-yard line. So, that ball traveled roughly 75 yards in the air.

Several recent Twitter comments identified Morin, who attended Chapparal High School in Temecula, California, as the quarterback in the video.

Morin was three-star recruit (according to 247sports.com) who initially committed to San Diego State in 2012 as a quarterback.

But he ended up transferring to a junior college and then to Arizona, where he played tight end in 2015 (per reports).

Those same reports revealed that he eventually switched sports and tried out for the Wildcats’ baseball team.

Although, it doesn’t appear as though he made the team.
