Kennedale coasts by Castleberry

Kennedale running backs Jaden Knowles and D.J. Kirven combined for 287 rushing yards and five touchdowns to lead the Wildcats past Castleberry 72-0 Friday in a District 5-4A Division I game at Wildcat Stadium in Kennedale. Knowles had TD runs of 32 yards and 21 yards, and returned a blocked punt 37 yards for a score. Kirven had touchdown runs of 9, 53, and 30 yards.

Key players: Kennedale linebacker Baron Browning finished with two sacks plus a safety when he blocked a Castleberry punt out of the end zone in the third quarter. Castleberry quarterback Michael Dameron accounted for 19 yards passing and six rushing.

Key stat: Kennedale’s defense limited Castleberry to four first downs, while the Wildcat offense gained 481 yards.
