FW Eastern Hills handles FW Poly for first district victory

Fort Worth Eastern Hills quarterback Anthony Maxwell threw for two scores and ran for another Thursday night as the Highlanders registered their first District 7-5A win in defeating Fort Worth Polytechnic 39-6 at Scarborough-Handley Field.

Key players: Maxwell rushed for 117 yards and threw for 123 yards. He hit Avery Bullock for a 66-yard touchdown and Courtland Walton for a 23-yard score. The Highlanders also got a 41-yard scoring run by Kyndal Owens, and teammate Oscar Sherman added a 1-yard touchdown run. The Parrots broke a string of 18 scoreless quarters with 21-yard touchdown pass from Noah Krape-Garcia to L.C. Jimison.

Key stat: The Eastern Hills defense added a safety, and kicker Thei Lo booted a 27-yard field goal.
