Source: UIL state football title games returning to AT&T Stadium
The UIL Football State Championships are returning to AT&T Stadium in Arlington next season, according to a source.
An official announcement could be coming this week, and Dallas Cowboys officials have announced a news conference for 11 a.m. Thursday at the stadium.
After taking place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington since 2010, the three-day high school football fest moved to Houston’s NRG Stadium last year.
Combined attendance for games at NRG Stadium was 94,509 fewer than the 2014 title games at AT&T Stadium.
Only three stadiums meet the UIL criteria for a host site that includes four dressing rooms, an indoor facility and a turf playing surface. Those are AT&T Stadium, NRG Stadium and the Alamodome in San Antonio.
