Anyone missing high school games yet?

The UIL suspended the athletic season until at least May 4 due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak.

So let’s do something fun.

Last June, I completed my fifth year covering high school sports for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. In August, I came out with my Half-Decade team, highlighting the best athletes in my coverage area for the past five years.

It includes 59 male and 41 female athletes ranging from football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, softball and baseball (sports I’ve covered in since Day 1).

Sorry cross country, track, golf, tennis, swim and wrestling....you’re awesome too!

Here’s your chance to vote. For the next few days, new polls will come out until we have a winner.

Results

RJ Nembhard vs Shea Langeliers

Mateo Gil vs RJ Mickens

Erik Ezukanma vs Freddy Hernandez

Bryson Guinn vs Alan Bowman

Grant Sherfield vs Tristen Lutz
