Paying tribute

It’s the third-straight year the two teams are meeting in the semis with Highland Park winning the past two times.

The Scots are coming off an epic 21-point comeback against Tyler, 42-35, while Ryan shut out Birdville, 28-0.

TXA 21 will also broadcast the second game on Saturday, at 4 p.m., between No. 1 Allen (14-0), last year’s state champ, and No. 5 Duncanville (13-0) in the Class 6A Division I semis.

Allen and Duncanville won their quarterfinal games by the same score, 51-7, vs. Waco Midway and Southlake Carroll.

It’s Duncanville’s first trip the semifinals since winning state in 1998.
