Watch show of sportsmanship from Duncanville players toward Carroll RB TJ McDaniel

Duncanville had just defeated Southlake Carroll, 51-7, in the Class 6A Division I state quarterfinals, but rather than jump up and down, and celebrate with teammates, a few players surrounded Carroll running back and SMU commit TJ McDaniel.

McDaniel was on the ground, his emotions overcoming him as it was the senior’s final game of his brilliant high school career.

The Panthers picked up McDaniel and hugged the 3-star prospect, who finished with 94 yards rushing on the day.

In a game with huge implications between two state-ranked and undefeated teams, Duncanville showed the sportsmanship and respect the Dragons were looking for during a difficult time.

McDaniel finished with 2,062 yards rushing and 33 touchdowns in 14 games this season. The Dragons were 13-1.
