WATCH: Nava scores first-ever state title game points by female kicker in Texas high school history

K-Lani Nava continued to make history on Wednesday.

Not only did she become who many believe to be the first female football player to participate in a UIL state championship, but Nava also scored the first-ever points by a female in a UIL football title game too.

Nava came in during the first quarter of the Class 1A Division II state championship to kick an extra point, which counts as two points in six-man football, for Strawn. That tied the score with Balmorhea at 8-8.

She successfully kicked her second extra points kick to give Strawn a 16-8 lead before having her third kick blocked.
