The six-man state title games are upon us once again at AT&T Stadium. The second of 12 state championship matches this week features two undefeated squads vying for the 1A Division II title.
If Strawn is able to pull off its first state title since 2008 it will be in large part to its female kicker K-Lani Nava, who is believed to be the first-ever female player in a UIL championship football game. You can also expect a big celebration at the famous Mary’s Cafe if the Greyhounds pull it off.
Balmorhea came up short in last year’s state final against Richland Springs and looks to take another step closer to its ultimate goal.
Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at AT&T Stadium.
