The TCU women’s basketball team and No. 4 Baylor face off for the second time this season Wednesday in a series that has seen the Lady Bears take the last 19 games.

Baylor (23-1, 10-1 Big 12) leads the Big 12 in offense, defense, rebounding and scoring margin. TCU held close in their first meeting this season in Waco, trailing 35-27 at the half before Baylor pulled away for a 72-55 victory.

TCU (12-10, 4-7) struggled to find an offensive flow inside the arc, with just 16 of its 55 points coming from inside the 3-point line.

The contest at Schollmaier Arena will be TCU’s fourth against an opponent ranked in the top 10. The Horned Frogs have yet to notch a win against a ranked team this season.

Signee a Naismith finalist

TCU signee Amber Ramirez was selected as a finalist Tuesday for the Naismith High School Trophy, given to the best high school player in the country. The winner will be announced March 10.

Ramirez, a 5-foot-8 guard out of San Antonio Wagner, is a McDonald’s All-American and ESPN HoopGurlz five-star recruit. She averaged 26.9 points per game in her junior season.
