TCU football adds all-conference offensive lineman, plus Texas Tech pass rusher
TCU football stayed hot on the recruiting trail with two more transfer portal signees Thursday.
The Horned Frogs signed Florida International interior offensive lineman Jaheim Buchanon during his official visit to Fort Worth. Buchanon confirmed his commitment on X.
TCU also landed Texas Tech defensive end Cheta Ofili, who also announced his commitment on social media.
Buchanon will be a redshirt junior next season and brings plenty of experience with more than 1,500 snaps. During his career he’s started 18 games at guard and seven at center, giving TCU the flexibility to play him at either spot.
Buchanon earned second-team All-Conference USA honors and was also named to the all-freshman team in 2024.
The 6-foot-4, 300-pounder is the second TCU offensive line commit in the transfer portal, along with Oklahoma State’s Noah McKinney.
Buchanon is an important pickup, as the Horned Frogs must replace Coltin Deery, Carson Bruno and Rimington Strickland. Now with the addition of Buchanon and McKinney, plus the return of starter Cade Bennett, the Horned Frogs have fortified the interior of next year’s offensive line.
The 6-4, 240-pound Olifi is a former four-star recruit from Sachse who was rated a top-250 player in the class of 2024. Olifi appeared in 10 games this season, making two tackles for the Red Raiders. He will be a redshirt sophomore next season.
Ofili could either play defensive end or at stud, TCU’s hybrid pass rushing position. The Horned Frogs bring back Zach Chapman and Paul Oyewale at defensive end, but need to replace Devean Deal and Jonathan Bax at stud.
TCU now has 10 transfer portal commitments.
TCU reserve cornerback enters the transfer portal
TCU freshman cornerback Cameron Jamerson announced on Wednesday night he was entering the transfer portal.
Jamerson was a three-star recruit from Pearland in the class of 2025. He didn’t play in a game this season and redshirted.
