McAlister led the Big 12 with 1,121 yards, making 64 receptions with 10 touchdowns. His yardage total was the second-most in a season by a Horned Frog receiver behind only Josh Doctson. McAlister finished No. 5 nationally in receiving yards ahead of players like Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith.
Being an All-American was one of the many preseason goals McAlister had for himself, and he largely accomplished everything he set out to do this season.
All signs point to McAlister being the next Horned Frog receiver to be drafted in the NFL, joining recent TCU players like Quentin Johnston, Derius Davis, Jack Bech and Savion Williams.
TCU head coach Sonny Dykes also expects McAlister to play in the Alamo Bowl against USC on Dec. 30 in San Antonio. It could be a matchup of the nation’s two best receivers if Biletnikoff Award winner Makai Lemon opts to play.
