TCU’s latest Amon G. Carter Stadium concession food: A purple Korean corn dog
TCU just introduced a new football game snack: a purple Korean corn dog.
Yes, it’s actually purple. This frog dog is called the “Half-Acre Korean Corn Dog.”
What makes it purple is the ube batter the hot dog is dipped in. The new Korean Corn Dog is a “hot dog + mozzarella cheese combo dipped in ube batter, fried in panko, dusted with ube powder, and drizzled with a sweet and spicy honey,” according to TCU Athletics.
Korean Corn Dogs have been buzzing on social media. They are traditionally a skewer of sausage or cheese, or both, dipped in a yeasted batter (rather than a corn batter) and then deep fried to crispy, golden perfection. Some are also topped with crispy potatoes, ramen noodles or sauces.
The new stadium item will debut for Family Weekend at TCU’s first home game against Abilene Christian University on Saturday, Sept. 13.
Here’s how you can get one.
Where to find the purple TCU Korean Corn Dog
The new Half Acre Korean Corn Dog will be served in section 109 of Amon G. Carter Stadium.
The stadium is located at 2850 Stadium Drive in Fort Worth. The Sept. 13 kickoff is at 7 p.m.
Star-Telegram sportswriter Mac Engel tried the hot dog at the TCU-ACU game. Here’s his review:
