Where did undrafted TCU football players end up after 2025 NFL Draft?
TCU had two players selected in the 2025 NFL Draft last weekend with Jack Bech landing with the Las Vegas Raiders and Savion Williams getting selected by Green Bay.
The two star receivers weren’t the only Horned Frogs that received a chance to live out their NFL dreams as TCU had multiple players sign as undrafted free agents or receive invites to rookie mini camps once the draft concluded.
Here’s a quick rundown of where some of the other Horned Frogs ended up:
LaMareon James, CB, Cleveland
James signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent on Saturday. A transfer from Old Dominion that arrived before the 2024 season, James was TCU’s top coverage corner last season. He led the Big 12 and tied second nationally with 14 pass breakups with the Horned Frogs.
James also had a game-sealing interception in a win at Kansas. He had a pass break up in 11 games including three in TCU’s win over Louisiana in the New Mexico Bowl. The 5-foot-10 corner showed good technique and used his experience as a receiver in the past to make things difficult for receivers in the Big 12. He didn’t get to showcase it at TCU, but James also has value on special teams.
JP Richardson, WR, Chicago
Richardson signed with the Bears after a career year with TCU last season. Richardson had a career-high 733 yards and caught two touchdowns in 2024. Richardson also had a punt return touchdown and over 250 return yards. Richardson is a smooth route runner with good hands and his value on special teams may gave him the best opportunity to make the roster.
Abe Camara, S, Carolina
Camara accepted an invite to the Panthers’ rookie mini-camp and will aim to impress the Carolina coaching staff. A multi-year starter for TCU at safety and nickel, Camara is a hard-hitting defensive back that is at his best playing near the line of scrimmage. Camara had 28 solo tackles, six passes defended and two forced fumbles in 2024.
Brent Matiscik, LS, Cleveland
Matiscik will join James in Cleveland as an undrafted free agent after starting at long snapper for TCU the last three seasons. Matiscik was voted a team captain ahead of the 2024 season.
Nana Osafo-Mensah, DL, Seattle
Osafo-Mensah received a rookie minicamp invite with the Seahawks after spending one season in Fort Worth. Osafo-Mensah transferred in from Notre Dame and was one of TCU’s top pass rushers last season as he finished second on the team with three sacks. Osafo-Mensah also had nine tackles for loss and 38 overall while also being a leader in the locker room.
Johnny Hodges, LB, Los Angeles Chargers
Hodges accepted a rookie mini-camp invite by the Chargers and could potentially join former Horned Frogs Quentin Johnston and Derius Davis if he’s able to make the final roster. Hodges was a team captain and led TCU with 89 tackles last season.
Cooper McDonald, LB, Kansas City
McDonald is headed to Kansas City after accepting a rookie mini-camp invitation. McDonald spent one season after transferring in from San Diego State and tied for second on TCU with 3.0 sacks. He also ranked among the team leaders with 4.0 tackles for loss and totaled 25 stops in nine games.
Bless Harris, OL, Las Vegas
Harris joins Jack Bech in Las Vegas ahead of a rookie mini-camp after spending one season at TCU. Harris transferred in from Florida State and started all 13 games at left tackle for the Horned Frogs with over 700 offensive snaps. Harris was voted honorable mention All-Big 12.
