TCU men’s basketball lands Iowa transfer guard Brock Harding

The TCU men’s basketball program has landed its first transfer portal commitment of the off-season.

The Horned Frogs landed Iowa transfer point guard Brock Harding Thursday afternoon, the announcement was made on social media.

Harding was one of the top priorities for TCU this off-season as head Jamie Dixon personally visited Harding and then hosted him on official visit in Fort Worth this week.

Harding started 24 of 33 games for the Hawkeyes this season, averaging 8.8 points, a team-high 5.3 assists and 2.3 rebounds. The sophomore point guard also shot nearly 40% from 3-point range on three attempts per game. Harding also averaged 1.5 steals per game.

The 6-foot rising junior fills a massive need for TCU as the Horned Frogs lost Vasean Allette and Frankie Collins to the transfer portal in the last week.

There will be plenty of minutes to go around in TCU’s backcourt and Harding should compete for a starting point guard position. With Harding in the fold TCU is currently slated to return Ashton Simmons and RJ Jones at guard while also adding blue chip recruit Kayden ‘Bugg’ Edwards from Duncanville.

Expect the Horned Frogs to continue to recruit more transfer guards to fill out the rotation.
