TCU football adds another edge rusher to 2026 recruiting class
TCU football continued to stay hot on the recruiting trail with another defensive line commitment on Tuesday morning.
Three-star edge rusher Amontre Harris announced his commitment to the Horned Frogs on his social media page. Harris is the fifth defensive linemen to recently commit to TCU in the last week.
Harris stars at Summer Creek High in Humble, Texas, just outside the Houston area. Harris had 52 tackles, 18 TFL and 10 sacks for the Bulldogs this season. He also played with current TCU freshman Chad Woodfork, a top-100 edge rusher from the 2025 class that was one of TCU’s highest ranked recruits. Harris and Woodfork combined for 22 sacks last season.
In 2023, Harris helped lead Summer Creek to the UIL 6A-Division II state championship game against DeSoto. Listed at 6-foot 3, 213 pounds Harris ranked the No. 53 edge rusher and No. 85 prospect in the state of Texas by 247Sports.
Harris held offers from Houston, SMU and Tulsa before committing to the Horned Frogs. Defensive coordinator Andy Avalos clearly made the front seven a priority to start the 2026 class and now TCU has a solid foundation of defensive linemen.
Most of them come from powerhouse programs in the state like Lake Travis edge rusher Carter Buck, Austin Westlake defensive lineman Maddox Flynt. Four-star Arlington Martin defensive lineman Jesse Ford remains the jewel of the class as TCU’s highest rated commit.
With seven players in the class, TCU’s recruiting class currently ranks No. 28 in the country.
