Postseason play is around the corner for college baseball and the pressure is beginning to mount for TCU.

With 10 games remaining on the regular season schedule the Horned Frogs currently sit at 25-20 and 8-10 in the Big 12 after dropping last weekend’s series against Texas. It may not sound great, but things can change quickly with how bunched up the the teams are in the league.

West Virginia sits at the top with a 11-4 conference record followed by Oklahoma State and Kansas at 11-7, Texas at 10-8, and Texas Tech and Oklahoma at 9-9. With the two series against Baylor and Kansas State remaining, TCU can make up a lot of ground before the Big 12 Tournament.

They’ll need to as the Horned Frogs are firmly on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament. D1Baseball has the Horned Frogs as one of the last five teams to make the field while College Sports Madness had TCU missing the tournament.

This weekend’s home series against Cal State Fullerton will have a significant impact on TCU’s at-large chances. The Titans (27-13) are ranked No. 24 in the country and sit 12 spots above TCU in RPI. Fullerton is a formidable opponent that shrugged off a 3-8 start by going 24-5 without a loss in back-to-back games.

Offensively Fullerton relies on Carter White, Nate Nankil and Brendan Bobo to provide a spark. Bobo has seven of the Titans’ 26 home runs this year while White is batting .358 and Nankil leads the team with 35 RBIs.

After facing the Titans, TCU will hope to build momentum with a three-game series against last place Baylor. The final home game of the regular season will see TCU face another team battling for its tournament hopes in Texas State.

D1Baseball has Texas State as one of the first five out along with Kansas State. With seven games against NCAA Tournament caliber teams the Horned Frogs will have ample opportunities to make or break their resume.

TCU and Cal State Fullerton will face off at 6:30 p.m. Friday
