TCU baseball has found its associate head coach to replace Bill Mosiello
T.J. Bruce has been hired to be TCU baseball’s associate head coach, a source has confirmed.
Bruce has been the head coach at Nevada the past seven seasons. Before that, he was an assistant coach at UCLA the previous five seasons.
Bruce, 40, replaces Bill Mosiello, who took the head job at Ohio State last week.
TCU has yet to confirm that Bruce has been hired, but a source said an official announcement is coming Monday.
The news was first reported by Nevada Sports Net.
Bruce was 171-168 in seven seasons with the Wolf Pack and won two Mountain West Conference regular-season championships.
“To the Reno community and Nevada athletics: We were really fortunate to call Reno home for the last seven years,” Bruce said in a statement to Nevada Sports Net. “You’ve excepted our Circus as one of your own. The relationships I will always cherish and have lifelong friends.”
Kirk Saarloos just completed his first season as TCU’s head coach after nine seasons under Jim Schlossnagle. The Horned Frogs won the Big 12 regular-season championship but was eliminated by Texas A&M in the final at the College Station Regional earlier this month.
