TCU football expected to have different look up front against Oklahoma
TCU football will have some changes along the offensive line for the Oklahoma game on Saturday.
The Horned Frogs have made a change at left tackle with T.J. Storment getting first-team reps over Austin Myers. John Lanz is starting at left guard as Wes Harris has moved to right guard to replace Quazzel White, who is out with an injury.
Steve Avila will be the starting center with Andrew Coker remaining the starting right tackle.
Gary Patterson mentioned on his radio show this week that highly-touted freshman Garrett Hayes has been working with the second-team offensive line this week.
Hayes, a four-star prospect out of Athens, is not listed on TCU’s depth chart in the official game notes. Hayes has position flexibility of playing either tackle or guard. With the NCAA freezing eligibility for fall athletes this year, TCU could play Hayes this season without him using a year of eligibility.
All clear
TCU (1-2, 1-2 Big 12) and Oklahoma (2-2, 1-2 Big 12) both passed the final COVID tests on Friday, and are cleared to play Saturday’s game.
Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. at Amon G. Carter Stadium. Capacity remains at 12,000 in the 46,000-seat venue due to COVID protocols.
