TCU football has set a date for its spring game.

The Horned Frogs will host a scrimmage on March 28 at Amon G. Carter Stadium. It will also mark the unveiling of the new east-side expansion project.

TCU did not have a spring game last year because of depth issues with a number of players injured. That won’t stop the Horned Frogs this year, though, even though quarterback depth will be an issue throughout spring practices.

Coach Gary Patterson said on Wednesday that the team will only have one scholarship quarterback — sophomore Max Duggan — available for spring.

The expansion project, meanwhile, was scheduled to open for the 2019 season, but weather-related issues forced a delay.

TCU will begin its spring practices later this month. Programs are allowed to have 15 practices, including the spring game. TCU’s spring game will not conclude its spring practices, though, as there will be a few afterward.

The spring game will be preceded by the school’s pro day on March 27, an event that typically draws a number of former players and NFL scouts. Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel and Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus were among those on hand at TCU’s pro day last season.

The Horned Frogs have a number of players with NFL Draft potential, including wide receiver Jalen Reagor, cornerback Jeff Gladney, defensive tackle Ross Blacklock, running backs Darius Anderson and Sewo Olonilua, and offensive linemen Lucas Niang and Cordel Iwuagwu.
