Highest rated recruit in Texas Tech history stays in-state with transfer to Texas A&M

Former Texas Tech wide receiver Micah Hudson transferred from the Red Raiders to Texas A&M ahead of his sophomore season.

Hudson was the No. 15 ranked player in 247 Sports’ transfer rankings and is coming off his freshman season in Lubbock where he caught eight passes for 123 yards.

A Temple native, Hudson was the highest-rated recruit in Red Raider history when he committed out of Lake Belton High School choosing Texas Tech over offers from Texas, Texas A&M, and Alabama.

The Aggies added Hudson to a successful transfer class that ranks No. 3 in the SEC according to 247 Sports.

The Aggies finished the 2024 regular season with an 8-4 record in their first season under head coach Mike Elko and will play the USC Trojans in the Las Vegas Bowl to finish the season.
