Hail in the mix for North Texas on Tuesday. Here’s the latest storm timing

Isolated large hail and damaging winds are possible in North Texas on Tuesday, May 19.

A cold front will bring showers and storms to the region over the late morning and afternoon hours, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. The front will move south over the Metroplex throughout the day and end up in Central Texas by the evening.

Large hail and damaging winds will be the main threats; however, isolated flash flooding will also be a concern for areas that see heavy rainfall.

The NWS released the following storm timing for Tuesday:

  • Northwestern counties and parts of Tarrant: Earliest start at 8 a.m., most likely from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and ending by 4 p.m.
  • Dallas County and parts of Tarrant County: Earliest start at 10 a.m., most likely from noon to 5 p.m. and ending by 8 p.m.
  • Central Texas counties: Earliest at 3 p.m., most likely at 4-9 p.m. and ending by midnight.

Storms continue heading into weekend

Daily storm chances will stick around in the region through the rest of the week and weekend.

  • Wednesday, May 20- 80 degrees, 20-50% chance of rain
  • Thursday, May 21- 78 degrees, 60-90% chance of rain
  • Friday, May 22- 83 degrees, 30-40% chance of rain
  • Saturday, May 23- 83 degrees, 50% chance of rain
  • Sunday, May 24- 82 degrees, 50% chance of rain
