Icy roads Sunday afternoon caused multiple 18-wheelers to get stuck on exit ramps in Arlington and Fort Worth, leading to temporary road closures.

Two 18-wheelers “slid and got stuck” about 1:35 p.m. while trying to drive on the southbound Texas 360 exit ramp to eastbound Interstate 20 in south Arlington, police spokesperson Tim Ciesco said in a statement.

There were no injuries reported, Ciesco said.

At about 4 p.m., Ciesco said that tow trucks were on the scene working to remove the semitractor-trailers from the closed ramp.

“We continue to urge folks to stay off the roads as conditions remain very slick,” Ciesco said. “If drivers have to be on the roadways, we would encourage them to adjust to the conditions and to take routes that avoid steep/inclined surfaces.”

Another 18-wheeler stuck on Fort Worth ramp

At about 2 p.m., an 18-wheeler and a Dodge Charger were both stuck on the southbound Interstate 35W ramp to eastbound Interstate 30 in Fort Worth, police said.

The Charger hit the semi at a slow rate of speed, Fort Worth police said.

No major injuries were reported, police said.

The ramp is still closed for clean up as of 4:45 p.m., police said.
