North Texas man found in freezing pond, hospitalized in critical condition

An older man was found unresponsive near a pond at his Collyville home on Sunday morning in below-freezing temperatures, police said.
Colleyville police officers and firefighters responded about 10:30 a.m. to the 5000 block of Fry Lane to assist a resident who had fallen in their back pasture and could not get up, Colleyville police said in a statement.
When first responders arrived they found an older man who was found by his wife unresponsive in their nearby pond, police said.
The man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, police said.
Police did not release further details about the incident.
