See when rain, thunderstorms arrive in Fort Worth this week
After a sunny and rain-free weekend, storms return to North Texas this week.
Storms and showers will flow from west to east over the Metroplex on Monday, May 5, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. The highest coverage will be Monday afternoon, but no severe storms are anticipated with this activity.
Widespread showers and thunderstorms are in the mix for much of the region on Tuesday, May 6. A few of these storms, specifically in the afternoon, could become strong to severe, according to the NWS.
Areas along and south of Interstate 20 will see the greatest severe weather threats, including possible large hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes. Rainfall totals across the area could be between 1 to 3 inches.
Rain chances will continue midweek
After storms roll through Tuesday, lower rain chances will stick around for the rest of the week.
There’s a 20% chance on Wednesday, May 7; a 30% chance on Thursday, May 8; and 40% chance on Friday, May 9, according to the NWS. Sunny and warmer weather will be back in play by the weekend.
