Rain and thunderstorms in the mix for Fort Worth. Here’s the latest forecast
North Texas received its first round of rain early Wednesday, April 23, in what is expected to be an active weather week.
Storms moved east out of the region over Wednesday morning. However, another round may develop in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. While there’s a chance for storms in the Metroplex, Central Texas has the better odds for storms.
Shower and thunderstorm chances (50%) for North Texas will continue into Thursday, April 24, with the best chances in the morning and afternoon hours.
More storms expected this weekend
Scattered storms are also in the forecast heading into the weekend, although due to the “disorganized nature” of these storm, it’s hard to pinpoint exact timing and location until a day prior, according to the NWS.
The severe weather risk is low, but strong to severe storms can not be ruled out yet. If strong to severe storms develop, large hail and strong winds would be the primary hazards.
As of Wednesday, weekend storms are expected to be hit-or-miss and no single day will be a complete washout, according to the NWS.
