Multiple inches of rain expected in Fort Worth over Easter. See when storms hit

Strong to severe storms are in the forecast for North Texas over Easter weekend.

Stormy weather will begin late Friday, April 18, and stick around until late Sunday, April 20, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. Multiple rounds of showers and storms are expected with this event.

Rain and storm chances will increase over Friday evening and continue into Saturday, April 19, according to the NWS. Similar conditions are expected Saturday, including periods of heavy rain.

Storms and widespread showers will continue over Sunday morning and afternoon. By Sunday evening, storms will begin to exit the Metroplex to its east, according to the NWS.

Multiple inches of rain expected

Average rainfall totals from Friday evening to Sunday evening will be 2 to 3 inches for most of North Texas, according to the NWS.

Some areas could see minor flooding and the NWS is asking residents to use extra caution at low water crossings and in areas of poor drainage, such as construction sites.
