Showers, isolated thunderstorms in the mix for Fort Worth. Here’s when rain arrives
After a warm week, North Texas temperatures will begin to plunge later this weekend as a cold front arrives.
Temperatures will be in low 70s on Friday, Feb. 7, followed by highs in the low 80s on Saturday, Feb. 8, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. Mostly cloudy skies are expected Friday, while sunnier conditions will persist Saturday.
A shift in weather will happen over Sunday, Feb. 9, as a cold front arrives and moves across the region. Sunday’s high is expected to be in the mid-50s, along with overnight lows in the mid-40s.
Rain returns early next week
Colder temperatures are expected next week, along with several days of rain.
The highest rain chances will be late Monday, Feb. 10, through Wednesday, Feb. 12, according to the NWS. Showers will be periodic during the stretch, with potential for isolated thunderstorms on Monday evening and Tuesday.
No winter precipitation is anticipated with this batch of storms, according to the NWS.
