Guy Fieri opens North Texas chicken restaurant. Here’s where to try ‘donkey sauce’

Celebrity chef Guy Fieri is frying up something good in North Texas.

The self-described “Mayor of Flavortown” is opening Chicken Guy! in Dallas at 7859 Walnut Hill Lane, suite 190. After being announced back in 2023, the restaurant will hold its grand opening on Thursday, Feb. 6.

Chicken Guy! is a fast casual restaurant chain that serves, you guessed it, fried chicken.

The chain focuses solely on chicken tenders, whether it be atop a sandwich, on a salad or simply served along fries. There’s a dozen different sauces to try, including garlic parmesan, avocado crema and “donkey sauce.”

Fieri and restaurateur Robert Earl opened the first Chicken Guy! in 2018 at Walt Disney World in Florida.

The Dallas location is owned and operated by brothers Kris and Ram Daswani.

Both of the brothershave over a decade of experience in franchise management and food service, according to a restaurant news release. They also plan to bring multiple other Chicken Guy! locations to the Metroplex over the next few years.

Chicken Guy! Dallas will host a grand opening event at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Guests who dress up like Fieri will have an opportunity to win prizes, such as signed books, framed photos or even wine bottles signed by the chef, according to the restaurant. The festivities will continue throughout the weekend, including an appearance by local DJ, K-Sprinkles.

Chicken Guy! Dallas is open 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday-Saturday at 7859 Walnut Hill Lane, suite 190.
