Temperatures will be 15 to 20 degrees above normal in Fort Worth. Here’s when heat arrives

After a stormy midweek, a sunny and warm weekend is in store for North Texas.

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport recorded 4.13 inches of rain over Jan. 29-30, with 4.10 inches coming during a 24-hour period, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. That accumulation is good for second all-time in a 24-hour period for the Metroplex in January, just below 4.27 inches in 2012.

With rain in the rearview, North Texas will feel the heat this weekend.

Sunny and warm weekend ahead

Conditions will be sunny and warm, with temperatures in the mid-60s on Friday, Jan. 31.

Warm temperatures continue into February as highs are expected be right around 70 degrees on Saturday, Feb. 1, according to the NWS. Highs in the mid to upper 70s are in the forecast for Sunday, Feb. 2.

Warmer weather will continue into early next week, as temperatures will be 15 to 20 degrees above normal, according to NWS.
