The cold is almost over. Warmer weather, rain on the horizon for Fort Worth

After a few days of subfreezing temperatures, North Texas will begin warming up on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

Much of the Metroplex is under a cold weather advisory until 9 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. Daily temperatures will be in the 30s, with overnight lows in the 20s on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

A steady warm up will begin Wednesday and continue for much of the week and into the weekend, according to the NWS. Daily temperatures from Wednesday to Saturday, Jan. 25, will be in the 50s, with overnight lows in the 20s and 30s.

Rain chances increase this weekend

There’s a 20% chance for showers and storms overnight Saturday into early Sunday, Jan. 26.

Chances increase to 40% during the day on Sunday, with areas near and east of Interstate 35 having the best chances for storms, according to the NWS. Temperatures on Sunday will be in the 50s.
