Expect wind, warm temperatures and humidity in North Texas as spring begins, forecast says

Monday marked the first day of spring, with temperatures forecast to warm up to the 50s and lower 60s.

Late Monday night into Tuesday will see windy and humid conditions with south winds reaching 20-30 mph and gusts up to 40 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Temperatures will be in the 80s to upper 80s on Wednesday with storm chances ramping up Thursday afternoon and evening.

Thursday temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s and on Friday will be in the upper 60s to mid 70s.

Saturday is forecast to be clear with highs in the 70s.

In the last 30 years there was a frost or freeze in April over most of North and Central Texas about 15 percent of the time, according to the National Weather Service

Weather service meteorologists predict about an 80 percent chance of no frost or freezes going into spring.
