Forecast: You may not need your umbrella next week, but take it with you in case
It might be a good idea to keep an umbrella with you in North Texas this weekend, just in case, but rain chances Saturday and Sunday aren’t really that high.
Showers and isolated storms are possible overnight Friday and into Saturday afternoon and evening, but most of it looks like it’ll stay out of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.
Afternoon highs in North Texas on Saturday are expected to be in the 80s.
Sunday, rain chances are up a little bit as a jet stream north of Oklahoma, a dry line and moisture coming up from the gulf have potential to create showers and thunderstorms across North Texas. Isolated to scattered storms should be expected on a nearly daily basis heading into next week.
“But it will not rain everywhere every day,” the National Weather Service in Fort Worth said.
Rain chances will continue into next week, with the highest probability of precipitation on Monday, followed by Wednesday as day with the second highest degree of likelihood. While chances for showers or thunderstorms are possible next Friday, right now they seem to be unlikely.
Also unlikely: severe weather.
“At this time, there is no clear signal for a particular day where strong or severe thunderstorms may be more favorable,” the service said Friday.
In other words, strong or severe weather are possible, just not exactly expected as of Friday.
