Two lottery players win $447,000 jackpot in Georgia. Where were tickets sold?
Two Georgia lottery players had a stroke of luck — and scored six-figure prizes.
The lucky players hit the Fantasy 5 jackpot, each winning $447,264 after matching five numbers in the drawing Wednesday, April 23, the Georgia Lottery said.
One ticket was sold at a Valero gas station in Griffin and the other at a Publix supermarket in Norcross, according to lottery officials. Both players beat odds of 1 in 850,668 to take the top prize.
The winning Fantasy 5 numbers were 4-6-22-24-26, draw results show.
The Griffin winner has come forward, but the other ticket remained unclaimed as of April 24, a Georgia Lottery spokesperson told McClatchy News.
The pair weren’t the Peach State’s only lottery winners.
A Powerball ticket matching four white ball numbers and the Powerball number won $50,000 in the April 23 drawing, the Georgia Lottery said. The winner was one number shy of the game’s estimated $151 million jackpot.
That ticket was purchased at a Grab N Go store in Albany, the spokesperson said.
Winners in Georgia have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes and are encouraged to sign the back of their ticket, the lottery’s website says.
