When one Arkansas woman won $50 from a lottery ticket, her husband decided he’d take a chance as well and bought another $10 ticket.

The man from Pulaski County also had some luck — but his prize was 4,000 times bigger than his wife’s. He won $200,000 playing the Ultimate Riches game, lottery officials said in an April 21 news release.

“I was so surprised because I just couldn’t believe it,” the winner told lottery officials. “I kept looking at the winning numbers thinking, ‘Well, it has to be right!’”

When he went to tell his wife about his win, she was skeptical.

“Oh, she didn’t believe me,” he told officials.

He had to show his wife the winning ticket to convince her he had really won.

The frequent lottery player purchased the ticket in Little Rock.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
