A Mega Millions ticket sold at a Fort Worth gas station just missed the $20 million jackpot, but won $5 million in the Friday, March 28 drawing, according to the Texas Lottery Commission.

The winning ticket was purchased at a Racetrac store at 6495 Camp Bowie Blvd., according to the Texas Lottery Commission’s website.

The winning ticket with Megaplier matched all five of the white ball numbers drawn (2-9-31-60-63) but not the gold Mega Ball number (23). The Megaplier number was 5, according to the Texas Lottery.

No one won the jackpot in Friday’s game, which will rise to an estimated $29 million grand prize, or a cash option of about $13.3 million, in the next drawing on Tuesday, April 1.

The Texas winner was the only one to match five numbers in Friday’s drawing.

The last jackpot won was a $344 million grand prize in Illinois in the March 25 drawing.

How to play Mega Millions

Mega Millions is played by choosing five numbers from a field of 70 and one Mega Ball number from the second field of 25 numbers. To win the Mega Millions jackpot, players must match all six numbers drawn including the Mega Ball, according to the lottery commission.

Beginning in April, Mega Millions tickets will cost $5 and all tickets will include the Megaplier.

The odds of winning a jackpot prize are 1 in 302,575,350.

The drawings for Mega Millions are broadcast online every Tuesday and Friday night at 10:12 p.m.
