2 men killed in apparent boating accident at east Fort Worth pond identified
The two men killed in an apparent boating accident Wednesday in east Fort Worth have been identified.
Michael Lloyd Sanders, 64, and Terrance Terrell Sanders, 20, were found dead in a pond on private property in the 3100 block of Cooks Lane. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner hasn’t yet released the cause and manner of their deaths.
Public social media posts identify the pair as grandfather and grandson.
Fort Worth fire crews were dispatched to the location at 11:24 a.m. and arrived four minutes later, according to department spokesperson Craig Trojacek. A small, flat-bottomed boat had overturned.
The first responders found the men and pulled them out of the water. Despite emergency medical care, the two were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said at the time that it wasn’t clear what factors led up to the accident.
